How I’m Going To Conquer My Fears In 30 Days (And How You Can Too)

“Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.” - Dale Carnegie

Sometimes, I get afraid. And I’m sick of it. So I’m going to do something about it.

I’m going to conquer my fears in 30 days. Want to find out how? Keep reading.

Like other entrepreneurs, I tend to feel overwhelmed and doubtful. I’m not always 100% sure that I’m headed for success.

Sometimes I’m stressed out because I’m not sure I’m really moving forward. Other times, I get afraid to take certain steps that I need to take to take myself to the next level.

And I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.

If you’re reading this, you’re probably an entrepreneur, which means you probably understand exactly what I’m talking about. When you’re building a business, there are many different fears that threaten to paralyze you. They can keep you from taking the actions you must take to move forward.

According to the above quote by Dale Carnegie, it’s action itself that can help you overcome your fears. As a matter of fact, remaining stagnant because of fear causes you to fear even more. It’s like a vicious fear cycle (if you can think of something cooler to call it, let me know).

Well, I’m tired of it.

I’ve already seen that when you do the very thing you’re afraid of, the fear subsides. You realize that what you’re afraid of isn’t nearly as bad as you think it is. Our imaginations tend to make our fears seem much bigger than they actually are.

Here’s an example.

When first learning how to sell, many people are afraid of being rejected. It’s why so many of us are afraid to try to persuade others to take actions that we want them to take. We’re deathly afraid of the word “no.” That’s how it went for me when I first started ten years ago.

But it got much easier.

When you get rejected over and over again, you stop caring. It’s no longer something that you’re afraid of. You learn to grow from it. That’s how it worked for Jia Jiang.

How I’m Going To Overcome My Fears

“Do one thing every day that scares you.” - Mary Schmich

So here’s what I’m going to do.

I’m going to overcome my fears by doing the very things i’m afraid of doing. And I’m going to do it over and over again.

I’ll try it for 30 days. Starting today.

I’m going to make a list of all of the things I fear, and I’m going to do at least one of these things every day.

Here’s the thing. I’m probably not going to be able to make a list of 30 things I’m afraid of doing. I mean, I’m not THAT fearful!

But just like rejection, overcoming your fears means doing the things you fear many times. So I will end up repeating many of the same things.

Why I’m Doing This

I’m doing this because I want to see what I’m capable of when fear isn’t hindering my progress. I want to see the difference it makes in my life.

I’m doing this because I want to move forward. If it’s successful (and I’m sure it will be), I want to be able to show others how they can also benefit from facing their fears on a regular basis.

I’m doing this because I’m tired of fear. I’m tired of wondering what I could accomplish if I just decided to do what I’m afraid of.

If you’re dealing with the same thing, I’m sure you’re tired of it too. Well, I think Dale Carnegie was right. I think action is the only real way to conquer fear.

If you want to do great things, you have to overcome the fear that tells you not to try. If you want to keep moving forward, you need to be able to do so despite your fears.

I’m inviting you to do this with me. Let’s free ourselves from our fears!

If this resonates with you, please share it!
